I have a friend His name is Mr E Yesterday he ate my chocolate bar And drank my cup of tea He enters my room through the window And moves my things around He hides before I can see him but I surely know he was there My room is a hot burning bonfire from Midsummers’Eve So I hide some oxygene under my bed To protect myself from Mr E from Mr E I have to protect protect myself from Mr E Oh, Mr E, I saw you on TV the other day you were wearing a bizarre tie and a fancy suit Tu avais de la classe but I know who you took them from Oh, Mr E My girlfriend tells me you don’t exist But I’m sure I’ve pointed my gun at you You left some blood on my keyboard

I never understood long division, so I wiped your number from my phone. Resistance is when the current does not pass. Distance, it equals speed times time. Resistance Well you know all about. Distance growing further all the time. Resistance Well you know all about. distance growing further all the time. I never understood your decision, nor how we could be together and alone. Resistance is when the current does not pass. Distance, it equals speed times time. Resistance Well you know all about. Distance growing further all the time. Resistance Well you know all about. distance growing further all the time. I lost myself among the arts. I lost you to physics and maths. I lost myself among the arts. I lost myself among the arts. I lost you to physics and maths. I lost myself among the arts. I lost myself among the arts. I lost you to physics and maths. I lost myself among the arts. I lost myself among the arts. I lost you to physics and maths. I lost myself among the arts.

It must have been something I said, some kind of slip of the tongue. It must have been something I said, some kind of slip of the tongue. It couldn't have been you instead, right? Couldn't have been that you misheard, right? Who knows? I may have made some kind of mistake. I may have made a grammar mistake. 'Cause I'm not perfect, not like you, no. Oh no - far from it. No, I'm not perfect, not like you, no. Oh, just forget it. It must have been something I said, some kind of slip of the tongue. It must have been something I said, some kind of slip of the tongue. 'Cause I'm not perfect, not like you, no. Oh no - far from it. No, I'm not perfect, not like you, no. Oh, just forget it. I may have used the present tense when the past would make more sense, make more sense, would make more sense. I may have mixed it up again. For us, the past would make more sense. It would make more sense.

Sleepy little pixie with cats eyes and smiley squirrel lips, in the shadow of your face I draw a line, a line beneath the past. I hope I’m not passing by. I'll stay beside you, hear your evidence. I'll run around the open field. Oh, I feel like I’m stumbling. I’m the animal behind the fence, sick of being on the wrong side of the wire, staring at the sky and asking why luck is never on my side. Sleepy little pixie, shut your eyes and listen to the wind. In the hollow of your palm, I draw a map, a map to make you laugh. I guess I'm just passing by. I'll leave once I give my evidence. A fence stands round the open field. Oh, I feel like I'm crumbling. I’m the animal behind the fence, sick of being on the wrong side of the wire, staring at the sky and asking why luck is never on my side.

Riding by night, legs in the dark, I struggle to catch some stars on a silent road. I strive to hold, to hold the night between my wheels. Dreams float off on the breeze. Night upside down, chasing daylight, seeking substance. Night upside down, chasing daylight, proof of existence. Want to fade gently, want your caress, want you lying down. Night upside down, chasing daylight, seeking substance. Night upside down, chasing daylight, proof of existence. Want to fade gently, want your caress, want you lying down. I look through your eyes and wonder if I'm not passing by my life. I look through your eyes. I look through your eyes and wonder if I'm not passing by, passing by my life.

Emmylou 05:11
Like Emmylou stores her food, like Emmylou stores her food in her cheeks, in her cheeks, I fill a sack up with some cheap, with some cheap souvenirs, with some cheap souvenirs of the time that we shared, of the time that we shared, that we shared, we shared, that we shared. To you, to you, they are trinkets, I know, I know. To me, they're gold. To me, they are gold. To you, they are trinkets, I know, I know. To me, they are gold. I'm bringing them home. Like Emmylou stores her food, like Emmylou stores her food in her cheeks, in her cheeks, I fill my mind up with happy memories, memories, for the lean times ahead, for the lean times ahead on the road, the road, on the road. To you, to you, they are trinkets, I know, I know. To me, they're gold. To me, they are gold. To you, they are trinkets, I know, I know. To me, they are gold. I'm bringing them home.

about

[US] "Blood On My Keyboard" was born in Tennessee, and was brought into the world by Jeff Cline, sound engineer and Head of Music at the University of Memphis. After seeing a General Bye Bye gig in his hometown, Jeff was so impressed by the band that he invited them into the university studio to record some songs. The group took some time out from their packed US tour schedule to accept the invitation and record a handful of new tracks during a marathon one-day session.

On this album, General Bye Bye has moved away from the lush and orchestral spirit of their debut album "Girouette" to focus on capturing a rougher sound, almost live. From the crazy keyboard lines of the title track "Blood On My Keyboard" to the nervous tension of the guitars on "Physics and Maths", or from the pop chorus of "Emmylou" to the smoldering violence of "Legs In The Dark", the band gets straight to the point with some catchy melodies and sharp drums patterns. With this mini-album, General Bye Bye continues to surprise us, and works hard to ensure that the band's music still cannot be pigeonholed.

General Bye Bye Paris, France

... more
